Hess Corporation is a leading global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Our strategy is to build a company that will sustain profitable growth and create significant shareholder value. We are committed to meeting the highest standards of corporate citizenship by protecting the health and safety of our employees, safeguarding the environment and making a positive impact on the communities in which we do business.

Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hess Norge, the company holds 64 percent of the equity in the Valhall field and 62.5% of the Hod field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Valhall, which started producing in 1982 is expected to continue operating until at least 2050. Valhall is therefore a significant part of the Hess worldwide petroleum portfolio.

Our history
Hess has been a player in the Norwegian oil and gas sector since activity began in 1965. Over the last years we have invested significantly in Valhall to increase recoverable reserves and sustain profitable production. In 2007, we moved our headquarters back to Stavanger following a period in Oslo, primarily to be closer to our partners and the broader petroleum community. Hess Norge and our team of 40 dedicated professionals are committed to delivering first quartile performance and, where attractive opportunities arise, growing a sustainable profitable business in Norway.
